Lent is here!

Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent.  Hopefully you will be able to make it to Mass and receive the ashes, a sign of penance and humility.

If, however, you need some prodding along for your Lenten endeavors, Rorate Caeli has once again posted the Lenten Mission given by Fr Isaac Mary Relyea.  In the Mission, Fr Relyea talks about the Four Last Things – Death, Judgment, Heaven, Hell.  We will all experience three of those things, and God willing it will be the first three.

I’ve listened to the Mission before, and I plan on doing so again this year, and I heartily encourage you to listen as well.  Turn off that boob tube and listen to something that will edify you more than the rerun of that mediocre sitcom.

Remember, O man, thou art dust, and to dust thou shalt return.

If you need some assistance in figuring out some way to grow holier through and after this Lent, this neat little printout can be used.  Plus, it can be used as a way to keep yourself accountable day to day.
