Over at Cream City Catholic, James has posted photos of something I’ve long wanted to see the insides of… Holy Trinity Catholic Church!
It is one of the oldest churches in Milwaukee, having been built in 1849 (recall, we became a State in 1848!). From the photos, it seems that the interior beauty has been mostly preserved by the parish, which is a great thing. It’s located in Walker’s Point, right across the street from the new Bradley Tech High School.
Go to Cream City Catholic to see the rest of the photos, but look at those altars! The Germans knew how to build wooden altars. Just, dang. That is noble simplicity.
