Here’s a saint most folks have likely heard of, but haven’t heard much about. St. Vincent de Paul! I would be willing to bet most people know of him through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, an organization dedicated to the sanctification of its members through serving the poor and disadvantaged. The Society was formed in 1833 to help those living in the slums of Paris, France, and the primary figure in its founding was Bl. Frederic Ozanam.
St. Vincent de Paul, the man, however, is known as the Great Apostle of Charity and was renowned for his compassion, humility, and generosity.
(Also, I missed yesterday, so expect a second post in a few minutes!)
