\u00a0She is (purported to have been) a 4th Century virgin martyr whose body was discovered in 1802 in the Catacombs of Priscilla. \u00a0A number of miracles were credited to her intercession, and the Cure d&#8217;Ars attributed her intercession to the extraordinary cures that others attributed to himself. \u00a0What we know of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catholictradition.org\/Saints\/philomena.htm\">St Philomena<\/a> comes primarily through private revelation, with some controversy as to her reported life. \u00a0In 1961, the Vatican ordered her feast be expunged from the liturgical calendar (her feast had always been rather limited, although many 19th Century saints were devoted to her). \u00a0Devotion to her, however, spread rapidly, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/philomenafamily.org\/?page_id=47\">Archconfraternity<\/a>\u00a0in her honor still persists to this day (and they have some rather appropriate aims, especially for our times and society!). \u00a0She is the patron of infants, babies, and the youth.<\/p>\n<p><em>St. Philomena, pray for
