My dear Friend,<\/p>\n
YOUR last letter gratified me ; it proved to me that\u00a0you are not indifferent to the school and your\u00a0masters, and also that you are keeping to your good\u00a0principles in the midst of the world. You have\u00a0already been able to see the difficulties, sadness, and pain in which it abounds, and I congratulate you\u00a0upon it, because you will have for it the feelings with\u00a0which it ought to inspire you.<\/p>\n
You know what I told you to keep you immaculatum ab hoc saeculo; a very simple little rule, but one\u00a0to which you will be invariably faithful. Prayer\u00a0regularly morning and night, a short reading from\u00a0the Gospel, monthly confession and communion, some\u00a0penitential practice to keep you humble and chaste,\u00a0and preserve you from the spirit of the world. This\u00a0little will suffice, will preserve you, will raise you\u00a0above the life of the senses, will keep you to God,\u00a0will strengthen and console you.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
