The prayer, I think, leaves something to be desired, but the stained glass photo I really like.

If there is any commonly known saint in this world, it is definitely St. Anthony. Y’know, he’s the saint you cry out to when you’ve misplaced something and you need it right now. “Tony, Tony, please come ’round, something’s been lost that must be found!” is one of the (many) catchy invocations of his patronage. […]
St. Joan of Arc, the Maid of Orleans and one of many patronesses of France! She did so much for her country, and in such a short time span. If we had a few Joans of Arc in our modern societies, how much better would we be off? The Modern Medievalist has a good reflection, […]
This was part of a book purchase (thank you eBay), and is a prayer card for the remembrance of the Most Reverend Edward Peter McManaman, STD, who was Auxiliary Bishop of Erie. Erie seems to have only had three auxiliary bishops in the last 100 years. According to Catholic Hierarchy, the good auxiliary Bishop was […]
That famous Carmelite mystic, St. Teresa of Avila. This card folds in half (as can be seen by the fold mark!) and has some maxims from St. Teresa inside. The card comes from the Carmel of Reno, although their website (and chapel) seem to leave a lot to be desired.
This is a card I picked up out of the Marian Center’s “free” bin (my most favorite bin) in Louisville’s East End. I’ve found many a holy card there. This card predates me, my parents, and all four grandparents, which is pretty cool, when you think about it. One of the many great things about being […]
I really like this prayer card, from the image used to the Novena prayer on back. Picked it up from my favorite Dominican parish, St. Louis Bertrand. The parish is home to a really old Lourdes Grotto and is just really pretty. Also, staffed by some great Dominicans (even if some are… Bears or Pats […]
Here’s another one-sided holy card that I have. This is a more modern-styled Our Lady of Mount Carmel. In it, Our Lady is depicted with the Brown Scapular.
Here’s a saint most folks have likely heard of, but haven’t heard much about. St. Vincent de Paul! I would be willing to bet most people know of him through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, an organization dedicated to the sanctification of its members through serving the poor and disadvantaged. The Society was […]
This only has one side because the back is blank. If it’s not already obvious, it’s a guardian angel watching over two (?) children as they traverse … a bridge you wouldn’t expect two children to be traversing. Either way, their guardian angel is watching over them, guiding and protecting them on their way. Even […]
